- Traverse of the Lake District This 50km spectacular walk across the Lakeland fells starts in Ennerdale, one of the remotest of the Lakeland Valley’s. After passing the lake, we break for the hills and gain the soaring Southern flank, ascending Pillar Rock before scrambling around the flanks of Great Gable. Passing Angle Tarn we descend to Langdale for the night. The morning starts gently with an easy walk to Grasmere before ascending Fairfield and the high fells above Ambleside. This leads us steadily towards Kirkstone Pass. Here we cross our final range passing over Stoney Cove Pike and High Street when we drop to Haweswater.
